If you saw it, would you read it?

Guardians Inc.: The Cypher

About the front:

There’s something compelling about this cover. It drew my eye because of the cartoon-like design but also the standing Gargoyles, or I presume that’s what they are. There’s an air of tension right in it too because obviously the kid on the stairs needs or wants to leave. Funny thing is, the first time I looked at this, I thought the kid was running UP the stairs. He’s actually going down. It’s a little bit of that fractal geometry—like the T-shirt Sheldon Cooper on the Big Bang Theory wears. Of course one isn’t related to the other, it’s just how the design hit me. I also LOVE the detail work. The perspective, the feel that comes across. It’s beautifully designed.

Now let’s look at what the back says:

A chance reading of a newspaper ad will send 16 year old Thomas Byrne into the world within our world.

Following the ad he will find Guardians Incorporated. A seven thousand year old organization charged with protecting the balance between Magic and technology.

Through their guidance, technology has kept Magic at bay since the Renaissance, but the balance is shifting and soon all those creatures we’ve driven into myth and legend will come back with a vengeance.

To protect the present, Guardians Incorporated needs to know the future and to unlock the future
they need a Cypher.

Does it match? Front to Back without the in between?

A chance reading of a newspaper ad will send 16 year old Thomas Byrne into the world within our world.

The world within our world. Yep. Totally reflect there because that entry foyer/door could be in anyone’s house. Even mine! ::shiver::

Following the ad he will find Guardians Incorporated. A seven thousand year old organization charged with protecting the balance between Magic and technology.

So there’s a group that managed this world within our world. Excellent. Those people probably have too much power and things are going to go wrong … or so I’d guess.

Through their guidance, technology has kept Magic at bay since the Renaissance, but the balance is shifting and soon all those creatures we’ve driven into myth and legend will come back with a vengeance.

Ah yes. There’s always that moment where real life and magic butt heads.

To protect the present, Guardians Incorporated needs to know the future and to unlock the future they need a Cypher.

Ah, so it’s the future that will fix the present. Excellent!

Does it match?
I’m thrilled to say that the cover and blurb match!

Will you add it to your bookshelf, virtual or otherwise? If that hasn’t whet your appetite, maybe this will …
