Sometimes, I think back on my high school years and I cringe. Why? Because I was a nerd. A geek. An out and out over achiever extraordinaire. Honestly? None of that’s changed except I no longer have to get books each August or September. Now, I schlepp my kids to the office supply store and Target and wherever they need to go to get their stuff.
Back in the day, though, I really, truly did get everything in advance and prepped it all ready for day 1.
Day one of freshman year.
Day one of sophomore year.
Day one of junior year.
Day one of senior year.
Repeat in college.
Books, books, books.
I’d do it all over again, too, almost just like I did before.
If I had to do high school all over again, though, I’d never take … Pascal. What’s Pascal?
It’s a programming course. Yes, that’s a programming language from the *cough*1990s*cough* and I promise you, when it comes to blank pages and blank minds and an inability to do anything right, it was in THAT class.
Seriously.
I am NOT a programmer.
So for me, that wouldn’t be a do over. That would be a ‘pick something else already!’ class.

If I had a choice when I was in school, I would not have taken history in my Freshman and Sophomore years. The teachers I had were strange, boring and one was creepy.

In high school we didn’t have much of a choice of what we took. I had to take art and drama which I didn’t like. I enjoyed sculpture and sewing though. The electives were usually fun but most of the time everything I wanted to take was full. I was forced to take poetry for one of my English classes. I hate poetry.
I would die if I had to take poetry!
Um,I’m still in high school but since I have my O’Levels coming up my subjects have narrowed down to a lot less than before.If there’s one subject I’d never take again it’d probably be Geography.All the regions and climatic zones.UGGGHHH!!They used to mess up my head.
That’s one class I’ve never taken and WISH I had! But maybe that’s not hindsight.
I would never take IT again! Mainly because it was a waste of time and I think I knew more than the teacher, hhaa.

If I would relive high school all over again. I would never get Biology as the same class. I’m just not fond of that class and well, the professor made it even more lacklustre.

Algebra 2. I suck at math so badly that by the 3rd weekin my progress report said I was making a 6 in the class. Yeah, math sucks.

If it was optional I would totally give up P.E. I hate being forced to play rugby in the cold and rain wearing maroon P.E. knickers! It shouldn’t be allowed!

I would not take chemistry. There are too many different items and if you make a mistake you can blow things up. Too hard too keep track of all of it.
Blowing up stuff is fun.
Biology. The only thing I hate about Biology is the part where you will dissect animals. I just can’t bear that.
Ick! Yes. Had to dissect a rabbit! Blech!
Chemistry! I didn’t enjoy it…and it’s where I met my first boyfriend…which turned out really badly. I would have been better off not having met him!

If I had to do high school all over again, I’d never take Pre-calculus because I epically failed both semesters.

I had to do high school all over again, I’d never take any Physics class or anything with Math, really. Half the time I am so lost doing all the computations and figuring out word problems it was torture!

If I had to do high school again, I’d never take French II. I loved my first French class, but my French II teacher didn’t really teach us anything. She would always get off topic, and I really didn’t enjoy her teaching methods.

I wouldn’t have taken Spanish class my freshman year because I never learned a thing in that class. There was this older, intimidating guy who sat next to me and kept asking me out even though I told him I wasn’t interested. It was a very uncomfortable place to be.

I hated Pascal — & COBOL — ALMOST as much as I hated FORTRAN (and I discovered I am SO not a computer programming person).
If I had it to do all over again, I’d never take Calculus with ANY other classes in college — I majorly suck at math, but I totally LOVE theoretical physics which, unfortunately, requires math. I took Calculus along with a full schedule (16 semester hours) and had to drop the class because it I had to work so hard to just barely “get it”.

I really don’t know…. The closest to a class I didn’t like was Drama and that’s only b/s I had to deal with a cheating b/f and a skit that was essentially about the same thing with him and I as leads for our final grade….

Chemistry 2, I didn’t do as good in that one as I did in the first one. It was hard!
I can’t even remember the name of it anymore, I remember the speed reading section was okay and that I skipped out on it more than a couple times because it was pointless. I think it was billed as a study skills class or something.

If I had to do high school all over again, I’d never take … Food Technology. It was such a disappointment. I thought I’d be in there cooking. Most of the class was theory – the history of food (who cares! I’m hungry). And then when we did cook I couldn’t eat it because it always had dairy in it or was just plain crap.
There were other classes I hated like Drama (because I’m shy) and Science (Because we never got to do prac). Drama was compulsory though for a year so I had no choice except to leave school early or chuck a sicky
Science was compulsory for 4 years, and oh boy did I count them down.
I probably wouldn’t have taken 4 years of french, I would have concentrated more on science.

Maybe PE-I really hated running the mile (games/sports, I’m good with, but running around in circles bored me lol).
Spanish, I’ve already forgotten half of what I learned because the teacher was horrible at teaching the language.
I wouldn’t want to go through high school again. If I had to however, I wouldn’t take PE or environmental science.
I wouldn’t take German…
It wasn’t the language I didn’t like… it was the teacher. She spent all her time chatting with the natural speakers and the rest of the class had to learn just by reading the textbook – which isn’t the best when you’re trying to learn a language…
But at the same time it did inspire me to become a teacher myself… so maybe it was for the best.

I’m still in high school, but if I were to re-do what I have done so far, I would say I won’t take IG Cambridge History again. It wasn’t a very well planned course. But if I’m able to not take Health, I would definitely say health is a subject I would never take again (it was compulsory!)
