If you saw it, would you read it? On the Fringe Courtney King Walker #ReadOrNot

About the front:
A drowning girl. Yup. That’s what I see. She’s falling and with the blue of the water, I can feel the cold. It almost hurts to watch as I can imagine she’s just falling and falling and falling and falling and … you get the picture, right? We see the bubbles. We see the surface water. It’s totally creepy and eerie and yet absolutely intriguing.

Now let’s look at what the back says:

Claire is struggling to overcome the murder of her childhood friend and secret crush, Daniel. Everyone else seems to be moving on with their lives, but she’s still trying to cope. The fact that she finds herself alone and drowning on her 16th birthday isn’t helping.

Neither is thinking she sees Daniel’s face in murky water as she mysteriously resurfaces. But something happened during those four and a half minutes that will make her realize it was not just her imagination.

As Claire and Daniel try to grasp a possible reconnection, other grudge-holding beings have plans of their own. Now, the two of them have to decide if their fleeting relationship is worth the possibility of Claire being trapped on the fringe forever.

Beautifully told, On the Fringe intertwines fresh ideas about devotion, revenge, and the consequences that come with life and death.

Does it match? Front to Back without the in between?
So the very first line implies the murder is of her friend and secret crush, Daniel. That he is the same one. So at first I went … Ooh … is he dead and she ‘s hallucinating. But then in paragraph three, it says they are grasping with a reconnection, so now I see he’s alive and that first sentence is two things, not one. That is a total game changer and my mind has just switched from one type of story to another. It needs a comma after that and to separate. That being said, I like this. I want to know who the grudge-holding beings are. I want to know how their relationship is tied to this. I want to know what the fringe is and if it’s related to her non-drowning. This is a great connection to the cover.

Where I’d read it
Anywhere. It seems to have a simple purpose and a potential romance and I’m all for that!
