Ever been reading a book and just can’t stop? What did you miss/forget/give up to keep reading?
Thank you, up front, to “I Am A Reader, Not A Writer” and Valerie from Stuck in Books for hosting this awesome hop!
Was it sleep?
How about a date?
Baseball game?
UPS man dropping off more books?
Work?
I remember once, I took my book to work because I HAD to finish the last chapter. HAD to. So I closed my office door at lunch and read, read, read! Who needs to eat when there is a story to finish?
Another book that sucked me right in was Crux by Julie Reece. I plowed through this book without stopping. I had to. It was all there, waiting for me. I had to know what would happen. I had to purge myself of what was happening. I had to read it.
And now, I want you to read it too!
She should have run. Now, she’ll have to fight.Eighteen year old Birdie may be homeless, but she’s surviving, that is until a mysterious guy throws money in the air like a crazy game show host and she grabs some with the idea she’ll be able to buy dinner that night.
In that singular moment, unassuming Birdie becomes the girl in everyone’s viewfinder. Thugs want to kill her. Money-guy wants to recruit her. The very hot, very rich and very out of her league Grey Mathews wants to save her.
Birdie, though, wants nothing to do with any of them until she realizes fate didn’t bring them all together.
Her heritage did.
Now, with only twenty-one days left, she’s got to decide whether to follow in the footsteps of those before her or risk her life for people she’s only just met.
Now, if you’re intrigued, you can buy it now … or keep going to register to win!

Of course it is sleep! I always stay up too late.
I totally blew off going to the grocery store for something reading The Great Lenore. I read the whole book in one sitting, and finished around 10pm — and had absolutely nothing good in the house for dinner!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

I read at night, so I would say sleep.

Since I am retired I really don’t have to worry about missing too many things. But I have missed a lot of sleep. I just nap later in the day.

Sleep. Eat. Get Dressed. Homework…….yeah.
I gave up sleep and homework! I actually got books taken away once just so I would finish my homework!
SLeep!
I forgot to go to the store.
Sleep. The worst was the day that the last Harry Potter book came out. It was the day before I left for the the youth mission trip. I was a chaperon and had preordered the book to be delived that Saturday. I decided to join the crowds and went to B&N that Friday night to get a copy. I stayed up all night and part of the next to read as much as I could. By the time I left I only had a hundred pages left! One of my youth had the book and she tortured me on the trip by continuing to read it and tell me how many pages she had left!
She finished before me (since she didn’t have to drive!) As soon as we got to the site, I sat down to finish reading.
I usually don’t bother eating!
Eating. I’d check the time and realize I’d miss lunch!
Sleep! I justify it the next morning by running late for work.. skipping a shower..”hair looks fine, especially since I sat up in my comfy chair, reading all night”…etc etc etc.. the bloodshot eyes are usually a giveaway that I’m stuck in something too good to put down
I miss a lot of sleep when I’m reading a great book – Thanks!
I forget to eat whenever I’m reading a really good book.
Since my only reading time is at bedtime, I generally give up sleep!
I used to skip school to read!
I forgot about dinner, needless to say it was very late and I had three hungry kids
I’ve given up sleep to read!
