About the front:
Teal. Yep. It’s the teal that caught my eye, and I have to admit, it’s really the only thing going for this cover for me. I’m not enthralled with the girl and when I read the title, I think fire for some odd reason, but the teal – that blue-ish/green-ish color, well … it makes me come back to this and back to this because well … I like teal. It’s my second favorite color to raspberry. 🙂

Now let’s look at what the back says:

Once again Violet Eden faces an impossible choice … and the consequences are unimaginable.

Violet has come to terms with the fact that being part angel, part human, means her life will never be as it was.

Now Violet has something Phoenix – the exiled angel who betrayed her – will do anything for, and she has no intention of letting it fall into his hands. The only problem is that he has something she needs too.

Not afraid to raise the stakes, Phoenix seemingly holds all the power, always one step ahead. And when he puts the final pieces of the prophecy together, it doesn’t take him long to realise exactly who he needs in order to open the gates of Hell.

With the help of surprising new allies, ancient prophecies are deciphered, a destination set and, after a shattering confrontation with her father, Violet leaves for the islands of Greece without knowing if she will have a home to return to…

Does it match? Front to Back without the in between?

Once again Violet Eden faces an impossible choice … and the consequences are unimaginable.

Impossible choices and big consequences are a staple in YA literature, aren’t they? Honestly, I don’t even know if this is YA, but I guessed it since the cover kinda had that ‘feel’ (whatever that ‘feel’ is).

Violet has come to terms with the fact that being part angel, part human, means her life will never be as it was.

Alrighty then … part angel. Now that I go look at the cover again, I see wings!

Now Violet has something Phoenix – the exiled angel who betrayed her – will do anything for, and she has no intention of letting it fall into his hands. The only problem is that he has something she needs too.

And of course, someone has something that somebody else wants. Hehehee …. it’s the way of the world.

Not afraid to raise the stakes, Phoenix seemingly holds all the power, always one step ahead. And when he puts the final pieces of the prophecy together, it doesn’t take him long to realise exactly who he needs in order to open the gates of Hell.

Ooh, opening the gates of hell. Well then … that would fit with my ‘fire’ ‘feel’. 😀

With the help of surprising new allies, ancient prophecies are deciphered, a destination set and, after a shattering confrontation with her father, Violet leaves for the islands of Greece without knowing if she will have a home to return to…

Greece? The island of Greece? I don’t know why, but this feels way off from everything else in here. I mean, sure, there needs to be a location and all, but

Will I read it?
I was sold until all the sudden we’re on Greece and leaving the island. It just seems .. inconsistent with the whole rest of the blurb. I still like the cover, but I dunno. Weird inner vibes going on.
