Nerd? Geek? Jock? Snob? Where did Jocelyn Adams fit in high school?

So, I know this book isn’t YA, but I LOVE Jocelyn’s writing and wanted to find out what she was like as a teen … before she started writing for … adults. Luckily for me, I get to find out!

Nothing’s better than being on the _________ team
Archery team. Why? Well, that’s simple, I mean come on! You get to shoot stuff! 🙂 Seriously, it’s a sport of wicked concentration and perfection, and it’s the one sport I’ve ever been good at. When in high school, I set an OFSSA record, which is the Ontario championships essentially.

My other car was a ________________
I didn’t really have a hope for any sort of car. Growing up on a farm, I didn’t care what it looked like as long as it ran. I drove a rusty old Chevy Cavalier until the wheels fell off. It got me back and forth to the boyfriend’s place and then to visit him at University well enough. Once I landed my first job, I bought myself a shiny Mazda Precidia. It drove like a sports car. Awesome.

Nerd? Geek? Jock? Snob?
I was one of those people who didn’t fit into any of those groups. I wasn’t good enough at sports to be a jock, nor smart enough to be a nerd or a geek and I was okay with that. I always had a small group of friends and we pretty much sailed under the radar, being who we were and not caring who had a problem with us. 🙂

If I could do it all again, I would …
Oh, that’s easy. I’d have skipped high school and started writing full time. Geez. Think of the number of books I could have done by now. Oh yeah, I’d totally do that if I had a time machine. You don’t have one do you? 😉

I almost got caught ________________
Going bowling. Yep, it was Halloween night. A little misty out, kinda cold. We were in grade 9, my friends and I. We decided to have a little fun and pulled a trick we called bowling. One of us would knock on the door. When the person answered, holding the bowl of candy, we grabbed the whole bowl and ran like heck. Little did we know the guy had a really big dog that had a taste for rotten teenagers’ behinds. Ouch.

Now, before we get to the last question, let’s look at AUTHOR’s book …

Touch of Frost by Jocelyn Adams
Touch of Frost by Jocelyn Adams

Even the simplest of touches between Will Frost and Lauren McLean are forbidden.

To share love will surely mean death.

Since her granddad’s passing, Lauren has existed a few steps out of sync with the world. Desperate to feel the love only he offered her as a child, Lauren returns to the haven they once shared — a snow-covered cabin at the foothills of the Rockies.

It’s not the memory of her granddad that warms her ice-cold, frost-bitten body after being caught in a blizzard, though. It’s the man in whose bed she wakes.

Along with bringing life to her soul, Will stirs deep-rooted memories in Lauren and brings out the love she seeks.

What Will knows about himself — the secrets of his kind — he keeps hidden, forcing Lauren to search for answers, to question and ultimately put her life, and his own existence, in danger.

In love, though, there is always a way.

Can Will get around the rules? Or will Lauren give up her life simply to have one last touch from Will Frost?

Favorite one-line review about the book

“…any hero who saves an orphaned Lynx kit to raise is outstanding in my book.” — The Romance Studio

Favorite 6 sentences from the book

“I put my hand over [Will’s] and brought it the rest of the way to my cheek.

A gasp fell from his lips, and his hand shook. “Why don’t you get some rest while I clean up?”

“How can you be so relaxed around a wild animal, yet I seem to scare you half to death?”

Face painted in shades of red, he withdrew his hand and rubbed it as if surprised to find it at the end of his wrist. “Never thought I’d be this close to a . .. woman again. Especially one like you.” “

But before you go, one last question …

There is no better class than _____________
Spare. Oh yeah, spare was awesome. My boyfriend and I used to sit in the library and play euchre. Yeah, I didn’t like high school very much. Small town, fewer than 500 kids in the school made for not much variety in the classes we were offered. Oh well. I made it through and I’m doing fine, so I guess that’s what counts.

Congratulations, Jocelyn! Good luck with Touch of Frost!
